Radio, RCA AR77 Receiver
About this objectThis RCA (Radio Corporation of America) AR77 communications receiver was primarily intended for short wave communications service, both amateur and commercial. Its major selling point was its stability, necessary to withstand severe climatic and Hne voltage variations, its frequency coverage over 6 ranges and ease of operation. With ten valves and an inbuilt transformer, it could be used with either a loud speaker or headsets. It was used at ZLB (Awarua) on high frequency services and was the Superintendents office radio in the 1970's.
