Dairy Thermometer

About this object

Floating dairy thermometer in a red cardboard tube with cardboard lid. Thermometer has a short piece of ribbon attached to the top through a glass loop. Tiny black beads are sealed into the narrow bottom end. A paper label is sealed inside the glass with numbers ranging from 10 through to 210 next to a scale. Red lines and numbers mark off degrees with labels in black. They are ZERO, 32' FREEZING, 60' CHURNING, 85' CHEESE, 150' SCALDING, WATER 212'. There is no indication of what scale is used but it can be deducted that it is the Farenheit scale from the freezing and boiling points.
