About this object
A Navy rating uniform consisting of a black woollen middy jacket, cream shirt, blue and white collar and black, flared trousers. These belonged to Able Seaman Vincent John Brown 8497, a telegraphist in the NZ Navy in WW2, late of Cromwell and Lowburn Valley.
At the top of the right jacket sleeve is a hand sewn label NEW ZEALAND and also a hand sewn WW2 wireless telegraphist trade badge. On the left sleeve is a hand sewn red V shaped service stripe.
