About this object

Wooden box containing the equipment to select random numbers for raffles or lottery's. There are 39 ( should be 40, one missing) small numbered wooden balls kept in a tray with numbered holes that slides into the base of the back of the box. These balls are tipped into a circular spinner inside the box through an opening on top of the box. The opening is opened and shut by a brass slide on brass runners. There is also a brass handle on the top. The front third of the top is hinged and opens and is latched by two hooks on the front. Attached vertically to the front is a lever that pushes down to uncover a hole at the base through which the balls fall out into a depression in a ledge that that protrudes from under the box. On the side is a handle to turn the spinner. Open and closed are written on top of the box.
