Maori kete
About this objectMaori kete or basket made from New Zealand flax ( phormium tenax) or in Maori harakeke. The basket has been woven from split blades of flax to form a roughly rectangular shape with a wide, open top. There are no handles but the top plait bind off has spaces that could be used for hanging or holding.
