Box containing 3 Sad irons all with detachable handles.
a: Sad iron base embossed ' Enterprise MFC Co, Philadelphia USA. No 50 One end curved up. b: Wooden handle embossed 'Patent May 19 1896 ' Forged wont break'.
c: Wooden handle embossed 'Kenrick" Will not break" NB: Kenrick irons were made by Archibald & Sons, in England. This handle is made by a different manufacturer than the base - showing the interchangeability of the handles. d. Sad iron base: lacquered and larger than the others; Difficult to read the embossing possibly "Enterprise, Philadelphia".
e. Sad iron base; laquered; top embossed ' Enterprise MFC .Philadelphia USA" "No 55". One end curved up. f. Wooden Handle embossed ' Forged wont break' 'Patent May 19 1896".
g. Wooden iron tray to contain 3 irons. One side of box is broken. h &i. Inset are 2 pieces of wood shaped to fit irons in box; j. Lid printed " The Enterprise Manufacturing Co of P A, "Enterprise" Sad Irons, "The Best", Philadelphia PA USA. The lid would only fit on the box if the irons were not contained within.
