About this objectBlue glass castor oil bottle. Found at the Junction Commercial Hotel site? This castor oil bottle has a paper label that represented J. T Morton, Leadenhall St, London This was originally a Scottish firm, founded in Aberdeen in 1849. By the 1860s Morton was a general provider and stocked a wide range of foodstuffs such as cheese, confectionery, corn, preserved provisions, sauces, vinegar and salt, but also apparel, books, soap and candles. Charles and Edward Morton took over their father’s company after his death in 1898.
