About this object

These shorts were worn by Gordon Collins while attending Knapdale School in the 1930s. While these shorts are heavily worn, they have been repaired by using a flour bag as a lining. In the 1930s depression era, New Zealanders by necessity commonly repaired their clothing using flour bags.
