About this object

A black and white photograph, taken outdoors, of a group of Mataura children of varying ages all dressed in multi-cultural costumes, A painted Union Jack symbol is displayed at the front of the group, c.1912. The children are standing outside the Mataura Primary School, when it was situated at the corner of Kana Street and Crawford Road. The only person we can identify in this photograph is Ann Eliza (Nan) Taylor, who is in a highland costume, on the far left.
