Embossed on the front of the mounting, in the bottom third is an emblem of a laurel and ribbons, and in the bottom right-hand corner is: 'Mora Studio / Gore, N.Z.'

On the reverse of the mounting, handwritten in blue pen: 'E34 - 15 / Miss Ross / Miliner at McGibbons Shop / Mataura'
