About this object
Black and white postcard of the Mataura Freezing Works and Paper Mill on the banks of the Mataura River dated 1911. It would originally have come from an album of postcards marketed by Leon Robinson, a Mataura based hairdresser, tobacconist and newsagent. The Society has several intact copies of these albums.
The postcard has a letter on the back, from an unknown writer who reports on building work at both the Mataura Freezing Works and Paper Mill.
