Chemise
About this objectChemise; a white slip cotton chemise with crocheted insets on front back and shoulders. The neckline is trimmed with crochet. This chemise was made by Mrs Alma Maud Wright of Mataura (1903-1998). It was donated to us by her daughter, Mrs Ina Russell, who found it in her mother's old glory box. Mrs Russell recalled how her mother made crochet and tatting as a substitute for more expensive lace.
