About this object
A framed water colour depicting the Mataura Paper Mill in 1885. The Mataura Paper Mill is in the foreground; across on the west bank of the Mataura River is the Mataura Flour Mill. The Mataura River and Mataura Falls are in the centre of the image. The background shows as yet, undeveloped land.
The painting is very similar to a 1889 photograph we have of the Mataura Paper Mill (refer to MT2011.185.58).
