About this object
Rules booklet; setting out the 'Rules and Regulations of the Bush Nurse and Housekeeper Auxiliary, 1928' for all branches of the (NZ) Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmer's Union (later known as Federated Farmers).
The Bush Nurse Scheme was intended to provide nursing care at a moderate cost to the rural community and was the forerunner to the state District Nurse Service. The Visiting Housekeeper Scheme was an effort on the part of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union to provide a measure of relief for rural women when regular domestic help was inadequate.
