About this objectA black and white photograph of Mrs Janet Dimmock, nee Mitchell. After coming out from Scotland she settled in the Lawrence, Otago area, and in 1874 she is found to be working as a domestic servant at the Royal George Hotel. She married William Dimmock in 1876 and they lived in Gabriel's Gully for some time. The couple are buried together in the Lawrence cemetery.
