About this object

Two pieces of a mould used in the production of a plaster mould for a paperweight. Each piece consists of a plaster body held within a cylindrical metal frame. One body has a positive casting of a triangular shaped paperweight with a stylised Maori face with tongue protruding and decorative border. The second part has a positive casting of the bottom of a triangular shaped paperweight with "FROM NEW ZEALAND" impressed into it. Each frame has a tubular lug on each side, possibly to hold a locating pin.
