Colour tinted postcard bearing the title "Stafford Street South, Timaru N.Z." along the whiote border on the right, dating from circa 1903.

Depicts a view looking southwards along Stafford Street from the intersection with George Street, with several pedestrians on the sidewalk and a few horse drawn vehicles on the road. Businesses identifiable on the street inlcude Hawkey and Sons, J Boothroyd, the Criterion Hotel, and Alfred Budds on the right, while Massey Harris appears on the left side of the image.

A handwritten note in pen on the reverse to "Master M Millan C/O Mrs M Millan Burkes Pass Via Fairlie" reads "Dear Alick, I hope you are all well. Ella has got such a nice book for you to look at when Ella comes home good bye, Mary Scott"

Postcard has a "Burkes Pass" stamp cancellation (no stamp) date of "?4 DE 06"
