About this object

A glass inkwell from the wreck of the sailing ship LASTINGHAM [sunk 1884] recovered by Roger Meecham. The inkwell has a square base and is made of clear glass, blacked internally with ink. There are marine sediments and accretions on the inkwell, as well as seashells which appear to have been glued on.
