About this object

By Lancelot Thomas Brooke who lived in the old house at Te Wahapu in the 1920's. The poems entitled 'Marama', 'Mimiwhangata', 'Awaroa' and 'Taihoa'.
The poet arrived in Wellington 1925 as a young man eventaully moving to the Bay where he lived in the old house at Te Wahapu. Worked on the meat boats and had a small fishing punt. The poems express his love of the Bay and knowledge of its places. He later returned to England. The copies brought to us by his daughter.
