These objects were found by Mr John McGaughey who lives at the end of the Te Wahapu Peninsula. The area was first a trading station of Gilbert Mair, later a barracks for soldiers here during the 1840s and 1850s and finally a boat yard for Paine Brown and Gardner. The objects relate to the area's second era. They were found in the donor's garden.Credit Line
