About this object

Silver plated originally. Now worn down to the copper. Brought to NZ by the Timperley family who settled in the Kawakawa, Ruapekapeka District. The first Mrs Timperley did a fair amount of home nursing among the Maoris. This ladle was used to dish out nourishing soup. Her name was Elizabeth.
