A collection of trophies and medals won by H K C Marshall (#2092 H 1913 - 17) Head of House, 1st XV 1916 - 17, 1st XI 1916 - 17, Senior Athletic Champion 1917, donated by H Brian Crawford (# 4291 H 1942 - 44) nephew of HKCM.
Trophies include one Silver Star engraved H.K.C.M - Breast Stroke - 1916; one gold Maltese Cross engraved on the front - Wanganui Collegiate School - mitre crest - 1917 Senior Championship – and on the reverse: Won by H K C Marshall - 9 pts - presented by H A Marriner; five rimmed silver medals dated 1916 with WCS Mitre Crest engraved on one side and the event on the other. Medals were for 120 yds handicap, 100 yds, 16lb shot put, 440 yds, and one medal with crest only. Three plain silver medals with no crest for: 100 yds 11.1/5 sec, 440 yds 57 secs, House Relay.
Six pewter tankards all dated 1917 for: Putting The Weight - 29ft, 2nd in 44 yds 55 seconds, Joint Senior Championship 9 points, 2nd in 100 yds 11 ⅕ seconds, ( beaten by A E Porritt, who went on to win bronze in Paris at the 1924 Olympics for 100 yds), 1917 3rd in Half Mile and one tankard with School Crest only, no inscription.
