Does anyone know where this ad was filmed?
Kia ora Tim, the soundtrack is by Mike Harvey and it's called "Crusher". Wellington. It was also on his LP record "Great Expectations". More on Mike here: http://www.audioculture.co.nz/people/mike-harvey
Such a great add from the past!! Does anyone know what the soundtrack is??
Kia ora John,
We have a new website, you can watch the L&P ad at this new link: http://www.ngataonga.org.nz/collections/catalogue/catalogue-item?record_id=147919
An ad from my dim, dark past! I searched for the tune that ran with this for about 25 years before finding it; it's called "Crusher" and is performed by Mike Harvey from Wellington. It was also on his LP record "Great expectations"...
Shame the link doesn't work, eh; that archive isn't available, at least here in Australia.
Would like to see the similar Rondo ad with grass skiing and the guy who "slams it down fast" because it's "lightly carbonated" if anyone has it.
So sweet, I alwasys wanted to do this and then grab a Rondo!
I was in an add in the 1970 for L & P, riding horses and sitting around campfire.
Any chance of viewing it, as I never did see it finished
As the product manager who originally commissioned the ad I can confirm Rondo was a Schweppes brand in the US not Coca Cola! It was similar in formulation and positioning to Solo of Australia (also a Schweppes brand). We positioned L&P in the same way and bought the footage for the Ad from Schweppes USA we at that stage were partially owned by Cadbury Schweppes
Awesome! The link works now!
This exact commercial footage was used for a citrus beverage called "Rondo" in the mid to late 70's. It was sold in the United States and was manufactured by the Coca Cola company.
Hi there, thanks for letting us know that the link was broken. We've fixed it now so you're welcome to go see the grass skis guy!
arrghhh the clip doesn't work even with the latest quicktime.... something must be wrong with the file.... :( ... I was looking forward to seeing that again
