About this object

A note on the back of this photograph records that it is of Maurice Forde and was taken at the Invercargill Show in 1930, where Maurice won a First Prize.

Maurice is in control of a cart sign written 'Tisbury Dairy Jersey Milk'.

Maurice Forde was born in Fairfax in 1902. The family moved between Fairfax and Riverton, and as an adult Maurice lived in Riverton, Mataura, and Invercargill. He married Dorothy Charlotte Bell in Riverton in 1923.

Maurice died in 1976, aged 74. He is buried in Riverton Cemetery.
