About this object

The team photo of the 1918-19 Canterbury side that met Wellington in a Plunket Shield match at the Basin Reserve on 22, 23, 24 January 1919.

Canterbury won the match by 7 wickets in spite of conceding a 135-run first innings' deficit. Second innings' scores of 88 from Noel Jones, 87* by captain Bill Patrick, and 72* from Arthur Thomas pushed Canterbury to 303 for 3 in a remarkable run chase.
