The Hokitika Museum is a regional museum located in the heart of Westland and housed in the historic Carnegie Building. What began in 1869, in the new Town Hall, as the “Museum Room” grew into the West Coast’s largest museum and archive.
The Hokitika Museum closed in September 2019 for seismic strengthening. We expect this project will take between 12 - 18 months to complete.
The Research facility will be available on a limited basis for email-based research enquiries while seismic strengthening is taking place. Please contact us on: email@example.com
