History, heritage and culture are brought to life at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. Founded in 1888, it remains New Zealand’s most compelling visual arts experience, with a collection numbering over 16,000 works.
Enter between majestic kauri (native tree) columns to explore four floors of exhibitions, seven centuries of art and one of Auckland’s most iconic buildings.

Free English-language tours start in the foyer on the ground floor daily at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Tours last 60 minutes and are limited to 15 people.
Free Mandarin tours are offered Thursday – Sunday and start in the foyer on the ground level at 12.30pm. Tours last 45 minutes and are limited to 15 people.
