About this object

This is an interesting example of a young woman's autograph book from 1908 to 1916. Jessie Miller (1888-1967) lived in Dunedin, and collected quotes, poems and signatures from family members, friends and locals, including Chinese signatures.

The quotes and poems are often words of advice and wisdom. One friend suggested 'Make yourself an honest woman, and then you may be sure that there is one rascal less in the world'.
