Portion of a Shetland Blanket - brown and cream plaid pattern. Spun & woven by Elizabeth Tait of Walls, Shetland. Presented to her eldest son Christopher on his leaving home about 1866 to commence work on a Shetland fishing trawler.
Brought to NZ in 1874 it graced his matital bed and was used by his widow until her death in 1945.
