About this object

This is a photograph of Allan and Doris Clark (nee Symons) of Menzies Ferry on their wedding day in 1932.

The Clark's farmed the river side of Allan's father's farm at Menzies Ferry in an area locally known as Strugglers Flat. Interestingly, this part of the farm included an island in the middle of the Mataura River. Sheep were transported to and from the island via a punt. Later, Allan also purchased his brother, Rolf's, property.

Doris and Allan had four children; Joyce, Colin, Lorraine and Lindsay.
