This photo shows the premises of John Trapski, Wheelwright and Blacksmith, Malta Street, Wyndham.
In 1895 John Trapski advertised as a blacksmith, horse shoer and implement maker. He developed his business from a one man smithy to the much larger concern shown in this photograph. A wagon and coach building was added to the business which at its height employed up to 14 local men. In 1914 Trapski sold his business to Armour & Johnston Limited of Invercargill and became a partner of that company.
