About this objectThis is a E Hayes wire strainer. Ernst Hayes invented this wire strainer in 1905 on his Central Otago farm, and they are still commonly used on New Zealand farms today. His sons began the E. Hayes & Sons Engineering firm which still operates today in Invercargill.
