Rule Book, Wyndham UFS Dispensary

About this object

This is a booklet from the Wyndham United Friendly Society (UFS) Dispensary which outlines their Rules and Regulations. Membership entitled the holder, their partner and any family under 18 to 'chemist benefits'.

The Wyndham UFS was funded and operated by the Wyndham Odd Fellows and Foresters Societies as a means to support the health and well-being of Wyndham people until the closure of the UFS in 1998.

From the minutes of the Alma Lodge, June 28, 1921: 'The Noble Grand said there was a meeting of the Alma Brethren and Foresters held on June 23rd to discuss the advisability of buying the late Mr Thompson's dispensary, and forming a Friendly Society Dispensary. This was approved. Bros. W.A. Allison, Traynor and Hunter appointed as delegates to work in conjunction with delegates of Foresters Lodge.'
