About this object

This is a set of architectural plans pertaining to the original Wyndham Memorial Hall. The Wyndham Returned Services Association (RSA) commissioned the hall in memory of local World War Two soldiers at the beginning of the 1950s. Built in 1953, Stanley Russell Rice, an architect who grew up in Wyndham, and whose father was a member of the Wyndham RSA, was the designer.

The hall was completely gutted by fire in 1959, and replaced with the current hall in 1962.
