About this object

This is a small box of archives pertaining to the Edendale Town Board, including an agenda with some interesting things up for discussion eg Storage of Explosives, Hawking, Cattle Wandering and Common Lodging Houses.

The first letter is from the Edendale Town Board (which came into existence in 1914) asking the Department of Internal Affairs on how they should deal with motor vehicles. The reply from the Transport Department in Wellington refers to the By-Laws regarding motor vehicles, including one-way streets and parking. There are two further letters referring to motor vehicles. 105 years on and we have no one-way street or any trouble parking in Edendale.
