Curd Rake, Metal; Unknown manufacturer; 1900-1910; WY.1986.72

Name/Title

Curd Rake, Metal

About this object

Unfortunately, we don't know much about this curd rake, except to say that it was retrieved from the Glenham dump by Bill McBride, passed on to Ossie Hunter, and eventually donated to the museum by his widow.

The rake head has curved tines, which would have been dragged across the cheese vat. Judging by the weight of the rake this must have been very hard work.
