Model, Ferry Street House

About this object

This model has been carefully made by Gary Wilson when he was in Form 4C. He utilised 26,000 matches to recreate his home at 14 Ferry Street, Wyndham, complete with garage, car and boat, and all set in a plant filled garden. The house was built as an exact replica, and took Gary 10 months to make. Inside, the model has all the exact rooms, wardrobes, doors and even lights, which are lit by three batteries. Gary collected used matchsticks from friends and family, and admitted that at times he did get bored with it, the walls being the hardest part to complete.

The scale is 1 foot = 1 centimetre.
