Branding Stamp, Flexopad
About this object
This is a sheep branding pad which appears unused. It is made from heavyweight enamelled metal, and the leather pad at the base is held in place with wingnut screws.
Advertising from the 1940s tells us that the Fleopad cuts branding down to half the time, with one fill sufficient for 400 sheep. 'No more unwieldy pot and stick methods - no slopping and wasting liquid.' However, this is not a common item, so it never really took off.
