About this object
Cut-throat razor; a cut-throat razor with an ivory handle. Engraved on the razor is 'McGillicuddy'. Inscribed on the blade is 'Bengall / Full concave Bengall razor / T R Cadman & Sons / Sheffield England'.
This item is assumed to have belonged to John McGillicuddy who married Elizabeth Lairds granddaughter Isabella McKay (Elizabeth Liard was Robert Fyfe’s sister who inherited most of his estate upon his death). Isabella and John had 3 daughters. He died in 1942, 11 years before Isabella who was 77 (1876-1953).
