About this object

Gun - Muzzle loading flint lock. A variation of the Land Pattern Muskett, originally produced for the British East India Company. Adopted by British Army as a standard issue in 1790. Called the 3rd pattern or India Pattern, popularly known as "Brown Bess". belonged to John "The Soldier" Finlayson believed to have been used in the Peninsular Wars about 1812.
