About this object

A farm economic survey was first undertaken in Springs County to discover the best techniques and procedures for later surveys of other, larger counties.
The objectives: to discover how land was utilised, best methods of management for any given type of land, and to record as much statistical and farm management information, as well as local practical knowledge as possible for comparative studies.

A preliminary copy of the survey was published in the Ellesmere Guardian in issues between 5th June and 21st August 1934.
