About this object

The barometer has a wooden frame with metal brass coloured spokes on the outer edge resembling a ships helm. There is a Brass frame encircling the face of the barometer. In the middle is the pivot point for the indicator hands with a hole giving a view of a portion of the inner workings. Surrounding this are the words Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, Very Dry in decorative letters with the capitals in red and other letters in black. Round this are pressure readings 940 - 1100 mb in a semi circle. There are graduations in between numbers. The outer ring contains numbers wit hpoint divisions and inches 28 -32 inches. The barometer is supported on a pedestal base of brass coloured metal in a tier shape with a base plate.
On the back is a plastic cover with 2 screws securing the mechanism.
