Fonadek X 2

About this object

An amplifier or speaker unit circa 1950's made by Fonadek (Branson) Ltd, Birmingham. This was used as a speaker phone and allowed more than one person to hear a conversation, or to use a 'hands free' option. This unit accommodated a telephone receiver placed on the front. Sound was then transmitted to a separate speaker. There is a black knob on the side of each unit, with a raised air vent. Metal casing slightly rusted.
The phone receivers are made from black bakelite, that sit on the cradle of the Fonadek. There are no cords.
In good condition.
