About this object

One fountain pen is a mottled, maroon colour with a gold lever on the side and a gold pocket clip on the cap. It is a 'Conway Stewart' brand. The instruction sheet and guarantee statement are included in the original box which has a handwritten inscription "R L Balderston" who was David Richard Logan Balderston, known as Logan, of Kaiwaka.
The pen was manufactured in London and is in good working order.

The other pen is a green, mottled fountain pen with black end pieces and the cap is in a matching colour with silver pocket clip. It is enclosed in a red box base inscribed 'Mentmore 46'. The pen was owned by John Lawrence Balderston known as Lawrie, of Kaiwaka.
