Table Runners x 4

About this object

Four rectangular shaped table-runners of which one has a scalloped edge. Two runners are of ecru cotton fabric and another of cream linen. The fourth is in a dark cream ecru linen fabric.
One runner is made of ecru coloured cotton fabric and has a pattern of 4 squares in the centre and stylised heart shapes at each end, with rectangular block patterns on the side of runner. These appear to be woven in bobbin-lace, using a pillow or loom.
Another runner is made of ecru coloured cotton fabric with scalloped edging and has a pattern that consists of 4 swirls in the centre surrounded by 'shell fan' shapes. All in very good condition.
Another runner is made of cream, linen fabric and is edged in handmade circular 'tatting' loops.
The last runner is made of ecru coloured linen fabric and is surrounded by hardhanger work, then edged with tatting. All in very good condition, except for 2 with some stains.

These were made by Catherine Victoria Alice Foote, nee Thwaites. b. 1901 d. 1991 She was known as Vic during her married life, to Frederick James Foote, known as Fred. b. 1895 d. 1982. They lived at Black Swamp Rd Mangawhai.
