About this object

This jabot was worn by women in the Bowmar Family of Mangawai, circa 1800's - early 1900's.
It is handmade of black lace that is overstitched with embroidery. It has 12 small buttons down the middle and closes at the back by 4 dome fastenings. Lined with black netting with 3 metal reinforcing loops at the neckline and a taffeta hem.
In good condition.
