Medal ribbon; a ribbon made to accompany the Queen's South Africa medal, awarded to military personnel who served in the Boer War in South Africa between 11 October 1899 and 31 May 1902. The ribbon consists of five vertical stripes (red, dark blue, orang, dark blue and red).

This belonged to Trooper John Laughton, 6075, of the 8th Contingent, New Zealand Mounted Rifles.
