About this object

Mantel clock; a wooden, chiming mantel clock made in Germany by Junghans. The face features gold numerals and a wood veneer panel in the centre. Covered with a gold-rimmed, glass door.

This clock was given to the donor Mrs Page, in appreciation of help given to the Dreaver family.

Junghans was established by Erhard Junghans with Franz Xaver in 1861 in the Black Forest, Germany, making parts for clocks and is today, Germany's largest watch and clock manufacturer.
