About this object
Chiming clock; a large, wooden clock, made in New York by the Ansonia Clock Co. The front of the clock is decorated with floral carvings, in the centre is a glass door covering the clock face and workings.
The Ansonia Clock Company was one of the major 19th century American clock manufacturers. It produced millions of clocks in the period between 1850, its year of incorporation, and 1929, the year the company went into receivership and sold its remaining assets to Soviet Russia.

Hi. I have this clock that has been in my family at least since 1923 because my Dad was born then. He was the youngest son of 15. Our clock works great, have the key but ours also has the glass " barometer" on the front. We were told if it was cloudy that it nay mean snow and that we may not have school. It has so many wonderful memories all through the generations.
