About this object

Photograph; a black and white photograph of the Owaka Valley dairy skimming factory (1893-1923), taken October 23rd, 1903. Several horses and carts are stopped in front of the factory building.

Those present have been identified as: on verandah: George Roger (manager), Kate Weir, John McNutt and Donald Matheson, Carts from left: John Duley, Oliver Andrews, John Mitchell, Bill Morris, Joe McNutt, Dick Stoddart, Andrew Tompson (Thomson?), Randolph Dick and Bill Bradfield.

The factory switched to cheese in 1919 and closed in 1923.
